Released from prison known serial killer who inspired Netflix TV series

The younger ones probably knew him watching the Netflix TV series  "The Serpent", in which his life is told. We are talking about the serial killer and scammer French Charles Sobhraj.

Sobhraj was recently released from prison in Nepal, where he had been held since 2003, following his conviction for committing a series of murders committed in Asia during the 70s. The man was released from prison due to serious health problems and thanks to a law of Nepal, which allows release in the event that prisoners are bedridden and have already served 75% of their sentence. Sobhraj returned to France following his release.

The Sobhraj technique was mainly based on pretending to be a dealer of precious stones to attract the victims, usually young backpackers, and then deprive them of conscience, rob them and finally kill them. He used the victims' passports for his subsequent travels in Asia.
