Dannielynn Hope Marshall Birkhead was born on 7 September 2006 in Nassau, Bahamas. She is the daughter of American photographer Larry Birkhead and model, actress and television personality Anna Nicole Smith.

Anna Nicole Smith began her career as a model for Playboy and for years she was recognised as a famous former Playmate. She came to the centre of news and gossip in 1994, when she married 89-year-old billionaire J. Howard Marshall. Following her husband's death, Anna Nicole Smith began a long legal battle for part of the inheritance. She later died tragically in 2007 of drug intoxication.

The paternity of her daughter Dannielynn Hope has long been controversial, taking several men to court.

The American Film Institute has compiled a ranking of the top 100 movie stars, both male and female.

To make the ranking, AFI adopted a chronological criterion: the debut on the movie screen had to be no later than 1950 or, if it was, the actor's career had to be ended permanently, due to his or her death.
